About Me

I’m just a Korean-American mommy and wife that loves to cook, but hates thinking about WHAT to cook. When I first got married, I looked online for authentic Korean recipes and found it to be harder than expected. There were lots of sites offering recipes, but none really tasted like what I had at home growing up. Plus, all the recipes I found had a lot of words and NO pictures and I’m the type that needs visual stimulation to keep focused.

Most of the recipes on this site are things I took note of through trial and error over the last six years of marriage. All the dishes on this site were marked with the seal of approval from my Korean husband (aka the MR) and five year old son (aka Munchkin).

In November 2008 I was diagnosed with a somewhat rare cancer called Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. My stage was T3N0M0 and I was diagnosed with a high grade tumor. My tumor was removed surgically through a medial maxillectomy and after some struggles with my insurance company, I finally completed proton beam radiation in June 2009.

In March 2011, I was told that my cancer was back.  It had metastasized to various parts of my bones.  I'm now what you call a terminal cancer patient.  However, the same still holds true from the day of my diagnosis.  I don't know whether I will live one year, 5 years, or even 10 years - but I will strive to live each and every day as if it were my last.

I want to live. I need to live. I will live.

...and oh yeah, "FUCK CANCER!"
